Gaining the knowledge required to analyse and understand Ottoman poetry texts is a lengthy and meticulous process. Even within a four-year undergraduate programme, grasping these texts in their simplest form is challenging, let alone appreciating their subtleties and depth. The only way to alleviate this difficulty, even slightly, is through a separate, practice-based study programme. This book, 'Text Commentary', has been prepared to help students on the Turkish Language and Literature course recognise and understand Ottoman poetry texts.
